Guru started his career in the energy sector at the Electricity Distributors Association supporting utility regulatory policy and regulatory finance. Later, as Manager, Corporate Strategy at Direct Energy he led the strategy work to support Direct Energy’s expansion into the energy retail and energy services business in North America. In 2010, as a Director at EDA, Guru led the LDC sector participation in the development of province wide CDM programs that were later delivered by LDCs.

From 2011 to 2017, Guru was a Director and later VP, leading Willis Energy Services and later CLEAResult’s growth in Canada as an energy efficiency program service provider. In 2017 Guru founded Enerva Energy Solutions Inc. as CEO. Guru has been fortunate to have significant experience across the energy & utility value chain: from energy policy & utility regulatory to actual implementation of seeing those policies in action through demonstrated leadership in growing & leading businesses that provide customer facing perspectives.

He has an MBA degree from Schulich School of Business, York University, Master of Science degree from Madras University, India and is a Chartered Director (2020).
